Appraising complementary medicine evidence
Current challenges in appraising complementary medicine evidence, is an article in the latest MJA. Author J.
Sarris argues that research in the area of complementary and alternative
medicine and a balanced appraisal and communication of the evidence in the
field are urgently required. Current concerns include the potential for
selective publication of results, differences in product quality and companies
making unsubstantiated claims. Providing intellectual property protection to
companies may encourage greater investment in research.
