Surgical Infection
The British Journal of Surgery (BJS) has dedicated a special issue to surgical infection, because of the dangerous development of antimicrobial resistance globally and infections in surgical patients are now common, debilitating and costly. In this issue of BJS the focus is on all aspects of surgical infection including prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Established treatment strategies such as preoperative skin preparation are re-evaluated and novel ones such as vaccination prophylaxis against wound infection explored. This issue is open access.
