The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has published a new guideline, Primary Prevention of Cervical Cancer. An Expert Panel has reviewed existing guidelines and conducted five systematic reviews to come up with this consensus. ASCO recommends two doses of human papillomavirus vaccine for girls aged 9 to 14 with an interval of at least six months. Those with HIV positivity should have three doses.
