The report, by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, "Hospital separations due to injury and poisoning, Australia 2005-06" provides statistics on hospitalised cases of injury in Australia in 2005 - 2006. In that year: more than 370,000 cases of hospitalised injury occurred in the community. These comprised 5.5% of episodes in hospital due to all causes.
