The Australian Academy of Science has released
"The Science of immunisation : questions and answers" in an attempt to address "confusion created by contradictory information in the public domain." It explains the current situation in the science of immunisation, including where there is scientific consensus and where there is uncertainty. The document discusses the meaning of the words vaccine and immunisation, and discusses the benefits and the safety of vaccines.
The publication was endorsed by the Royal
Australasian College
of Physicians and the Australian Medical Association.
