The
Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has released a new report on elective surgery waiting times. In 2014-15: about 700,000 patients were admitted to Australian
public hospitals from elective surgery waiting lists; 50% of patients were
admitted for their surgery within 35 days; fewer than 2% of patients waited
more than a year for their surgery.
