Healthcare across Australia 2010-11
Healthcare 2010-11: Comparing performance across Australia is the third report from the COAG Reform Council assessing progress under their National Healthcare
Agreement. One of the key findings is that while there has
been progress in improving hospital care, it is not consistent across Australia . For
example, elective surgery waiting times have improved in a number of
areas, but some of the states with larger populations are lagging. The
report also finds that health outcomes are still not equal for all Australians, with more people delaying seeing a GP due to cost, and a quarter of
people reporting financial barriers to seeing a dentist.
