Bereavement and depression - practice issues

This Australian paper addresses some of the practical issues for practitioners concerning bereavement and depression in the light of debates around the recent changes to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.  The author suggests how to discriminate between grief and depression and support the grieving client, and how to define the diagnostic boundary between these concepts.  Implications for clinical practice are presented.
