The European Oncology Nursing Society has recently released a new guideline titled "Breakthrough Cancer Pain Guidelines 2013". This new guideline is the result of an online survey of nurses working in oncology and palliative care, which concluded that nurses need more education and training in breakthrough cancer pain management and assessment.
